Built in 1955, Steamship Shieldhall is the largest working steamship in Britain. A member of the National Historic Fleet, based in Southampton, she serves as a sea going tribute to Britain’s maritime heritage.
Gwella were asked to assist with identification, advice, and subsequent removal and making safe of an area containing asbestos within the galley area onboard the historic steamship.
The work was finished ahead of schedule and the external air testing brought forward to allow the ships staff to reoccupy the space.
