Gwella’s Asbestos Removal division have recently undertaken the removal of hard flooring within Exmouth Community College, for Bam Construction, under controlled conditions, by removing various licensed ACMs. The AIB packers were in poor condition and all contained Amosite.

As part of the asbestos removal project, it was a requirement to set-up purpose-built full enclosures using 2×2 timber framing, polythene and tape in order to create negative pressure barrier. Our experienced team carefully carried out the Asbestos Insulation Board packer removals using a hammer and bolster around the concrete to release each packer, ensuring minimal disturbance.

In order to minimise risk from the asbestos dust, we used a shadow vacuum alongside surface spraying methods, followed by a full environmental clean throughout each enclosure. On completion a 4 stage clearance air test was carried out by a UKAS accredited analyst in order for the works to be signed-off. Direct connection utilising one of Gwella’s decontamination unitswas also achievedfor the duration of the works.

We have received excellent feedback from the client regarding our team’s effective communication on-site, as well as our high standards of workmanship.

“A challenging piece of work well executed by the Gwella team.”Chris, Project Manager
